Sit and Go Bankroll Management
If you're a skilled sit and go player, one important thing is playing at a site with a slow progressing structure. Fast structures are detrimental to a skilled player, because you want as much time as possible to take advantage of your weak opponents. This article will take a look at sit and go structures at all of the major online poker sites.
SNG Structure at Ignition.lv
Ignition.lv is the best site for playing sit and go's, in our opinion. Each player starts with 1,500 chips, and blinds begin at 10/20. Blinds raise every ten minutes, and antes don't kick in until you have already played for an hour. This gives you plenty of time to play poker before the blinds place too much pressure on your stack:
Ignition.lv SNG Structure Chart - ($1,500 Starting Chip Stack)
Level | Blinds | Antes | Minutes |
1 | 10/20 | - | 10 |
2 | 15/30 | - | 10 |
3 | 25/50 | - | 10 |
4 | 50/100 | - | 10 |
5 | 75/150 | - | 10 |
6 | 100/200 | - | 10 |
7 | 100/200 | 25 | 10 |
8 | 200/400 | 25 | 10 |
9 | 300/600 | 50 | 10 |
10 | 400/800 | 50 | 10 |
11 | 600/1,200 | 75 | 10 |
12 | 800/1,600 | 75 | 10 |
13 | 1,000/2,000 | 100 | 10 |
14 | 1,500/3,000 | 150 | 10 |
Ignition's sit and go structure is easily the best online, and has lead other poker sites (such as PokerStars) to modify their structure to become slower.
As you can see, the first few levels are very low blinds with no antes, and allow you basically 30 minutes of play before you have pressure on your stack. After that things quicken up, especially once antes kick in.
SNG Structure at FullTiltPoker.com
Full Tilt's SNG structure isn't the best, in our opinion. Their standard structure includes 6 minute levels, which is significantly faster than PokerStars'. However, their level changes are less drastic than PokerStars, so that helps the tournament move along slightly slower. At the start of the sit and go, things go slow, but once you reach the late stages it really picks up and becomes a bit of a crap shoot. Here's the chart with/ the structure:
FullTiltPoker.com SNG Structure Chart - ($1,500 Starting Chip Stack)
Level | Blinds | Antes | Minutes |
1 | 15/30 | - | 6 |
2 | 20/40 | - | 6 |
3 | 25/50 | - | 6 |
4 | 30/60 | - | 6 |
5 | 40/80 | - | 6 |
6 | 50/100 | - | 6 |
7 | 60/120 | - | 6 |
8 | 80/160 | - | 6 |
9 | 100/200 | - | 6 |
10 | 120/240 | - | 6 |
11 | 150/300 | - | 6 |
12 | 200/400 | - | 6 |
13 | 250/500 | - | 6 |
14 | 300/600 | - | 6 |
15 | 400/800 | - | 6 |
16 | 500/1,000 | - | 6 |
17 | 600/1,200 | - | 6 |
18 | 800/1,600 | - | 6 |
19 | 1,000/2,000 | - | 6 |
20 | 1,200/2,400 | - | 6 |
21 | 1,500/3,000 | - | 6 |
As you can see, Full Tilt doesn't use antes at all in their sit and go's. Also, their six minute levels keep things progressing quickly, and once you reach the 200/400 level the game really picks up and becomes sort of a luck fest.
SNG Structure at TitanPoker.com
Titan's SNG structure is significantly faster than Ignition's, and in our opinion is a poor structure. They use 9 minute levels, and just like Full Tilt, don't implement antes. One unique feature with Titan's structure is that there are no breaks until two hours into the SNG, so rarely will a sit and go progress far enough to reach a break.

Level | Blinds | Antes | Minutes |
1 | 10/20 | - | 9 |
2 | 20/40 | - | 9 |
3 | 30/60 | - | 9 |
4 | 50/100 | - | 9 |
5 | 100/200 | - | 9 |
6 | 150/300 | - | 9 |
7 | 200/400 | - | 9 |
8 | 300/600 | - | 9 |
9 | 400/800 | - | 9 |
10 | 500/1,000 | - | 9 |
11 | 750/1,500 | - | 9 |
12 | 1,000/2,000 | - | 9 |
As you can see, Titan has a really fast structure, and most sit and go's will finish up in less than an hour. We don't recommend playing sit and go's there if you can play at PokerStars.
